Ratification Process

Definition

The ratification process refers to the formal approval of an official document or agreement by individuals or groups with authority. In this context, it specifically refers to the process by which the United States Constitution was approved by each state.

Analogy

Imagine you are hosting a party and you need everyone's permission before you can start. You have to go around asking each person individually if they agree with your plans and if they will give their consent for you to proceed with your party. That's how the ratification process works - getting everyone's approval before something can be officially adopted.
