Nonresponse Bias

Definition

This occurs when respondents selected as part of a survey do not respond or are unwilling to participate leading to skewed results because it does not represent all segments of population accurately.

Analogy

Imagine throwing a birthday party where only your closest friends show up, but you claim that everyone loves your parties based on the feedback from this group. This would be a nonresponse bias because the opinions of those who didn't attend weren't considered.
