Nineteenth Amendment

Definition

The Nineteenth Amendment (ratified in 1920) granted women suffrage rights – meaning it gave women across America the right to vote.

Analogy

Imagine being in a classroom where only half the students are allowed to answer questions. Then, one day, the teacher changes the rule and allows everyone to participate. That's what happened with the Nineteenth Amendment - it gave women a voice in political decisions.
