Devolution is a process in which power and authority are transferred from a central government to regional or local governments within a country.
Imagine devolution as giving more responsibilities to your older siblings. Instead of your parents making all the decisions for you, they allow your siblings to have some say in certain matters. This way, decision-making is shared among different levels of authority.
Federalism: A system of government where power is divided between a central authority (federal government) and regional authorities (state governments).
Decentralization: The transfer of decision-making powers from a central authority to lower-level entities like regions or local governments.
Home rule: The ability granted to local governments or municipalities to manage their own affairs without interference from higher levels of government.
