Surveillance is the act of closely monitoring individuals, groups, or places using various methods such as cameras, tracking devices, or data collection for security purposes.
Analogy
Imagine surveillance as being constantly watched by an invisible detective who records your every move. This detective keeps an eye on everything happening around you for safety reasons.
