Definition

A systematic procedure for collecting and analyzing evidence that was crucial to the evolution of science in the modern world. It involves observing, forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, and drawing conclusions.

Analogy

The scientific method is like baking a cake from a recipe. You follow specific steps (ingredients = observations, recipe = hypothesis), you mix them together and bake (experiment), then you see if your cake turned out well or not (conclusion).
