Definition

Organized groups or organizations formed by individuals who share similar political beliefs or ideologies. They aim to influence public policy through elections and gain control over governmental offices.

Analogy

Picture political parties as different teams in a sports league. Each team represents a specific ideology or set of beliefs, and they compete against each other to win the championship (gaining control over the government).
