This refers to the tools and techniques used by sailors to find their way across oceans. During the Age of Exploration (15th-17th century), this included instruments like compasses, astrolabes, quadrant etc., along with improved ship designs.

Caravel Ship Design: A small but fast ship design developed by Portuguese navigators in 15th century that allowed for better oceanic exploration.
