Munich Agreement
Definition
The Munich Agreement refers to the 1938 agreement between Germany, Italy, France, and Britain that allowed Nazi Germany to annex the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia. It was an attempt to prevent war by appeasing Hitler's demands.
Analogy
Imagine a group of friends at a party where one friend keeps demanding more and more snacks. To avoid conflict, the other friends agree to give him all the snacks he wants. This is similar to how the Munich Agreement tried to appease Hitler by giving in to his demands.
