Long Parliament

Definition

The Long Parliament was an English Parliament which lasted from 1640 until 1660. Unlike its short-lived predecessor, it made significant legislative changes and played a key role during the English Civil War.

Analogy

Consider the Long Parliament as your favorite TV show that runs for many seasons. It has plenty of time to develop characters (or in this case laws), introduce plot twists (political upheavals), and significantly impact its audience (the country).
