First Balkan War (1912-1913)

Definition

The First Balkan War was a conflict where the Balkan League (Serbia, Greece, Montenegro and Bulgaria) fought against the Ottoman Empire to gain territories.

Balkan League: An alliance formed by a series of bilateral treaties in 1912 between the Balkan states of Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, and directed against the Ottoman Empire.

Treaty of London (1913): The peace treaty signed on May 30, 1913 that ended the First Balkan War. It did not resolve all issues and led to Second Balkan War.

Second Balkan War: A conflict which erupted in 1913 when Bulgaria, dissatisfied with its share of spoils from First Balkan War, attacked its former allies Serbia and Greece.
