D-Day

Definition

D-Day refers to June 6, 1944, when the Allied forces launched a massive invasion on the beaches of Normandy in France during World War II. It marked a turning point in the war and helped pave the way for the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control.

Analogy

Imagine you and your friends have been planning a surprise attack on another group in a game of capture the flag. The day you all choose to execute your plan is like D-Day. It's the day when everything comes together, strategies are put into action, and victory becomes possible.
