Ancient Greece
Definition
Ancient Greece was a civilization belonging to a period of Greek history from the Greek Dark Ages of the 12th–9th centuries BC to the end of antiquity (c. AD 600). It's known for its contributions to philosophy, politics (democracy), arts, sciences and sports.
Analogy
Think about your school's student council where everyone gets a say in decisions - that's democracy which originated in Ancient Greece. Also consider your science or philosophy class discussions - many foundational concepts were first introduced by ancient Greek thinkers!
