Phytoestrogens

Definition

Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring compounds found in plants that have a similar structure to the hormone estrogen. They can mimic or block the effects of estrogen in the body and are commonly found in soy products, flaxseeds, and some fruits and vegetables.

Analogy

Imagine phytoestrogens as hormone impersonators. They dress up like estrogen and can either act like it or prevent it from doing its job. It's like having actors playing different roles in a play, sometimes confusing our body's hormonal balance.
