Definition
Extinct refers to a species that no longer exists anywhere on Earth. It means there are no living individuals left, and the species has completely disappeared from the planet.
Analogy
Imagine a book with all its pages torn out. When a species becomes extinct, it's like those pages have been ripped away forever, leaving behind only empty spaces where they used to be.
