Definition

Sources of power refer to the various means by which individuals, groups, or institutions can exert influence and control over others within a political system.

Analogy

Think of sources of power as different tools in a toolbox. Just like a carpenter uses different tools for different tasks, individuals and groups use different sources of power to achieve their goals in politics.
