Definition

Separatists are individuals or groups who advocate for independence or secession from an existing state. They seek to establish their own separate political entity, often based on ethnic, religious, or cultural differences.

Analogy

Think of separatists as people who want to break up a group project and start their own individual project. They believe that they can achieve their goals better by separating from the larger group and forming their own independent entity.
