A safety valve is a political mechanism or policy that allows for the release of public pressure or discontent in order to prevent more extreme forms of protest or revolution.
Think of a pressure cooker with a safety valve. When the pressure inside the cooker becomes too high, the safety valve opens up and releases some steam, preventing an explosion. Similarly, a safety valve in politics helps release public frustration before it reaches a boiling point.
Protest Movements: Organized efforts by groups of people to express their dissatisfaction with certain policies or conditions.
Social Welfare Programs: Government initiatives aimed at providing assistance and support to individuals and families in need.
Freedom of Speech: The right to express one's opinions and ideas without fear of censorship or punishment from the government.
