Definition

Normative data refers to information that describes what should be or what is considered ideal according to societal norms or standards. It involves evaluating behavior or outcomes against established criteria.

Analogy

Imagine normative data as a report card for society. Just like your grades are compared against the standard expectations set by your school, normative data compares behaviors or outcomes against societal norms to assess their acceptability.
