Spectator ions are ions that exist in the same form on both the reactant and product sides of a chemical equation. They do not participate directly in the reaction.
Imagine you're at a concert. The band members are like the active ions participating in the reaction, while you and other audience members are like spectator ions - present but not actively involved in creating music.
Precipitation Reaction: A reaction where an insoluble solid (precipitate) forms from two aqueous solutions.
Net Ionic Equation: An equation showing only those particles involved directly with the chemical change, not including spectator ions.
Salt Bridge: It's part of an electrochemical cell which allows ion flow without extensive mixing of different solutions.
