Logarithmic Scale

Definition

A logarithmic scale is a nonlinear scale used when there is a large range of quantities. In this scale, each increment on the axis increases by a factor of a fixed value, rather than by equal increments.

Analogy

Imagine you're climbing a staircase where each step gets progressively taller. The first step might be just one foot high, but the next could be two feet, then four feet, and so on. This is similar to how values increase in a logarithmic scale.
