Definition

These are sources outside of a system that provide the necessary energy for certain processes or reactions to take place.

Analogy

Consider this as your morning alarm clock. It's an external source that provides you with the 'energy' (or motivation) to wake up and start your day!

Potential Energy: Stored energy in an object due to its position or state, like how water behind a dam has potential energy because it could be used to generate electricity.

Kinetic Energy: The energy possessed by an object due to its motion, just like when you're running fast during sports practice.
