Pole

Definition

The pole of a function is a point where the function becomes undefined or approaches infinity. It is often represented as a vertical asymptote on a graph.

Analogy

Imagine you are driving on a road and suddenly there's a huge pothole that you can't cross. The pole in math is like that pothole, it's an obstacle that prevents the function from continuing smoothly.
