Numerator

Definition

The numerator is the top part of a fraction that represents the number of parts being considered.

Imagine you have a pizza and you want to know how many slices you ate. The numerator would be the number of slices you actually ate.

Denominator: The denominator is the bottom part of a fraction that represents the total number of equal parts into which something is divided.

Fraction: A fraction represents a part of a whole or a ratio between two numbers.

Quotient: The quotient is the result obtained when one quantity is divided by another.
