Depth

Definition

Depth refers to how deep or shallow something is, typically measured vertically from its highest point down to its lowest point.

Analogy

Picture yourself swimming in a pool - depth would be how far below the surface you are submerged. If you can touch your toes on tiptoes, the depth is shallow. If you can't reach the bottom even when fully stretched, the depth is deep.
