Prokaryotic cells are simple, small cells that lack a nucleus or other membrane-bound organelles. They are typically found in bacteria and archaea.
Think of prokaryotic cells as a studio apartment where everything is in one room. There's no separate space for the kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom - it's all open and accessible.
Nucleoid: The region within a prokaryotic cell where the DNA is located. It's not enclosed by a nuclear membrane like in eukaryotes.
Plasmids: Small, circular pieces of DNA found in prokaryotic cells that can replicate independently of the main chromosome.
Binary Fission: A method of asexual reproduction used by prokaryotes where one cell divides into two identical daughter cells.
