Definition

The pituitary gland is a small pea-sized gland located at the base of the brain. It is often referred to as the 'master gland' because it controls the function of most other endocrine glands.

Analogy

Consider pituitary gland as a school principal. Just like how a principal oversees and directs all operations in a school, pituitary gland regulates and controls activities of other endocrine glands in our body.
