Definition

A photon of light is a particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation. It carries energy proportional to the radiation frequency but has zero rest mass.

Analogy

Think of photons as tickets at an amusement park. Just like how each ticket gives you access to a ride, each photon provides energy for a specific reaction in photosynthesis.
