The per capita growth rate is the rate at which a population of a species increases or decreases for a given set of resources and conditions, such as food availability or predation.
Think of it like baking cookies. If you have enough ingredients (resources) to make 10 cookies every hour (growth rate), your per capita growth rate would be 1 cookie per hour if you have 10 bakers (population). But if more bakers come in without an increase in ingredients, each baker will be able to make fewer cookies per hour.
Population Density: The number of individuals of a particular species in a specific area or volume.
Carrying Capacity: The maximum population size that can be supported by the available resources in an environment.
Birth Rate: The number of births occurring in a population over time.
