Offspring are the product of reproduction, a new organism produced by one or more parents.
Think of offspring like a unique recipe. The ingredients (genes) from both parents (chefs) are mixed together to create something new and unique - you!
Progeny: This is another term for offspring, referring to the descendants or children of an organism.
F1 Generation: This refers to the first generation of offspring obtained from an experimental cross of two organisms.
Zygote: A zygote is the initial cell formed when two gamete cells (sperm and egg) are joined by means of sexual reproduction. It contains all the genetic information necessary to form a new individual.
