Enzyme Function
Definition
The specific biochemical activity of an enzyme, often involving the conversion of a certain substance (substrate) into another (product).
Analogy
Think of an enzyme as a highly skilled locksmith. Just like how a locksmith can shape a key to fit perfectly into a lock, enzymes are able to bind with specific molecules (the substrates) and transform them into something else (the products).
