Definition

Sandstone is a type of sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized minerals or rock grains. It is often used in architecture and sculpture due to its durability and ability to be carved.

Analogy

Imagine sandstone as a giant sandcastle that has been hardened over time. Just like how the individual grains of sand are compacted together to form a solid structure, the grains in sandstone are bound together to create a strong rock.
