Scoring refers to assigning points or marks to evaluate student performance on an exam, assignment, or project. It determines how well students have met specific criteria outlined in a rubric or grading system.
Scoring can be compared to playing basketball. Each successful shot earns points towards your final score, just like each correct answer or well-executed task earns points towards your overall grade.
Grading: The process of evaluating and assigning scores or grades to student work.
Weighted Scoring: Assigning different values or weights to different components of an assessment when calculating the final score.
Norm-Referenced Scoring: Comparing a student's performance to that of their peers to determine relative standing.
