Radial Balance

Definition

Radial balance occurs when all elements radiate outward from a central point. It creates a sense of movement and energy as if everything revolves around that focal point.

Analogy

Picture ripples spreading across the surface of water after dropping a stone at its center. The ripples move outward in a circular pattern, just like how elements in an artwork can radiate from a central point to create radial balance.

Related terms

Symmetry: While not directly related to radial balance, symmetry involves creating equal halves on either side of a central axis, similar to how radial balance revolves around a central point.
