Technology's Effect on Life Quality

Growing up in the 21st century, we are no strangers to screens! Technology and improvements in science are creating modern solutions to society's biggest problems. For example, during the pandemic, technology fueled our transition to an online world where we could complete necessary tasks. Beyond that, science and technology provide solutions to housing, food, and many other global issues.

In your day-to-day life, consider some applications of technology or science that improve (or un-improve?) your qualité de vie. Do you believe that advancements in medicine have helped to improve societal health? Is progress in entertainment benefitting the societies that it serves? These questions and others like them are key to understanding why progress, innovation, and creativity are vital to higher life quality!

How does technology impact the way you engage with your community and participate in life? How does it build relationships, contribute to a workplace environment, or improve your social life? Technology and surrounding ethics can definitely determine the quality of life (or potential quality of life) in a community or individual setting.

Questions to Consider:

How does technology impact our physical and mental health ()?

In what ways does technology make education more accessible?

How does technology affect our ability to communicate and build relationships?

How does technology impact our work-life balance (l'équilibre entre vie professionnelle et vie privée)?

Does technology improve or decrease our sense of privacy and security (confidentialité et sécurité)?

How does technology impact the way we consume and share news and information ()?

To what extent does technology contribute to social isolation and loneliness ()?

How does technology impact the way we access and use energy ()?

How does the use of technology affect the environment and sustainability (l'environnement et la durabilité)?
