Stereotypes are oversimplified generalizations about groups of people that may or may not reflect reality. They can involve attributes related to race, ethnicity, gender, and more, affecting perceptions and interactions.

Analogy

Thinking of stereotypes is like using a blurry photo to recognize someone's face; the image gives you a vague idea but misses the unique details that truly define the person.
