Colonialism is the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically. It often involves the transfer of population to a new territory, where the arrivals live as permanent settlers while maintaining political allegiance to their country of origin.
Imperialism: A policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
Decolonization: The process by which colonies become independent from the colonizing country, often through increased self-governance or independence movements.
Nationalism: A political ideology that emphasizes loyalty, devotion, or allegiance to a nation or nation-state and often exalts one nation above all others
