Qutb al-Din Aibak was a general of Muhammad Ghori who became the first Sultan of Delhi in India after his death. He founded the Mamluk Dynasty and laid the foundation for what would become the Delhi Sultanate.
Think of Qutb al-Din Aibak as an assistant coach who takes over when the head coach (Muhammad Ghori) leaves. He not only keeps the team (Mamluk Dynasty) going but also sets it up for future success (Delhi Sultanate).
