The term "Indian Empires" refers to the various powerful states and dynasties that ruled over different regions of the Indian subcontinent throughout history. These include, but are not limited to, the Maurya Empire, Gupta Empire, Mughal Empire, and British Raj.
Think of Indian Empires like a long-running TV series with different seasons. Each season (or empire) has its own characters (rulers), plotlines (historical events), and themes (cultural or societal trends), but they all contribute to one overarching story - the history of India.
Maurya Empire: An ancient Indian empire founded by Chandragupta Maurya in 322 BC that was known for its military might and extensive administrative system.
Gupta Empire: A classical age empire in India from around 320 to 550 CE known for significant advancements in arts, science, technology, engineering, literature, philosophy, religion and mathematics.
Mughal Empire: A major global empire in South Asia founded in 1526 by Babur that is known for its cultural influence including architectural achievements like the Taj Mahal.
