This was a concept created and propagated by Imperial Japan during the first half of the 20th century. It promoted the cultural and economic unity of Northeast Asians, Southeast Asians, and Oceanians.

Imperialism: The policy or ideology of extending a nation's rule over foreign nations, often by military force or by gaining political and economic control.
Colonialism: The practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.
World War II: A global war that took place from 1939 to 1945. It involved many world's countries forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis powers.
