Energy production refers to the process of generating energy from various sources such as fossil fuels (coal, oil), nuclear power, renewable resources (wind, solar).
Think of energy production like a bakery. Different ingredients (energy sources) are used to make different types of breads and pastries (forms of energy). Just as a baker chooses ingredients based on availability and cost-effectiveness, societies choose their energy sources based on similar factors.
Fossil Fuels: These are natural fuels such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms.
Renewable Energy: This is energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power.
Nuclear Power: This is the use of nuclear reactions that release nuclear energy to generate heat which most frequently is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power plant.
