Divine Right is a political doctrine in defense of monarchical absolutism, which asserted that kings derived their authority from God and could not therefore be held accountable for their actions by any earthly authority such as a parliament.
Imagine if your school principal claimed they were chosen by your favorite celebrity to run your school. Because this celebrity chose them directly (and you can't question this celebrity), you can't argue with your principal's decisions - that's similar to divine right!
