The Allied Powers were a group of countries that opposed the Central Powers during World War I. They included France, Russia, Britain and later the United States.
Think of the Allied Powers as a team in a sports tournament. Each member has its own strengths and weaknesses but they work together to defeat their opponents (in this case, the Central Powers).
Central Powers: This was an alliance during World War I that consisted mainly of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria.
World War I Alliances: These were formal agreements between nations to provide mutual aid or support during war.
Treaty of Versailles: This was the peace treaty signed at the end of World War I which held Germany responsible for starting the war and imposed heavy penalties on them.
