The second phase of the sexual response cycle where sexual tension builds at a slower pace until it reaches its peak just before orgasm.
Imagine you're hiking up a mountain. You've passed the initial steep climb (initial excitement) and now you're on a more steady incline (plateau). It's still challenging but not as intense as when you started - that's plateau phase.
Orgasmic Platform: In females, this refers to the thickening of the walls of the lower third part of vagina during plateau phase.
Sexual Tension: A state of anticipation or arousal leading up to sexual release.
Refractory Period: A resting period after orgasm during which it is impossible to achieve another one.
