Metacognition involves thinking about how you think. It's awareness and understanding of your own thought processes.
Consider metacognition as if you're driving a car but also observing yourself drive from above. You're not just maneuvering the car, but also analyzing how well you're driving, when to turn, and if you're following the rules.
Self-regulation: The process by which individuals monitor and control their behavior, emotions, or thoughts, adapting them according to the demands of a situation.
Cognitive Load: The total amount of mental effort being used in working memory.
Reflective Thinking: A part of metacognition that involves stepping back from a task to consider your approach to the problem-solving process.
