This refers to how our feelings are often displayed through our facial expressions. Different emotions correspond with specific facial movements.
Imagine your face as a billboard advertising what's going on inside your mind. If you're happy, your face will 'advertise' this with a smile; if you're angry, it might 'display' a frown or scowl.
Microexpressions: Brief, involuntary facial expressions shown on the face according to emotions experienced.
Nonverbal Communication: Communicating feelings or thoughts without words - often through gestures, body language or facial expressions.
Social Cues: Signals from others that give information about what they are thinking or feeling - often interpreted through their body language or facial expressions.
