The Common Sense Theory of emotion suggests that we first perceive an event, then experience an emotional response, and finally have a physiological reaction.
Think of it like watching a scary movie. First, you see the monster (perceive the event), then you feel fear (emotional response), and finally your heart starts racing (physiological reaction).
Perception: The process by which our brain interprets sensory information.
Emotion: A complex state of feeling that results in physical and psychological changes that influence thought and behavior.
Physiological Reaction: A bodily response to a stimulus, such as increased heart rate or sweating.
