Closure is a principle of perception that describes how humans fill in visual gaps in order to perceive disconnected parts as a whole object.
Imagine you're trying to complete a puzzle, but some pieces are missing. Your brain doesn't like incomplete pictures, so it uses the surrounding pieces to guess what the missing ones might look like. That's closure - your mind filling in the blanks to create a complete image.
Gestalt Principles: These are rules that describe how the human eye perceives visual elements. They include similarity, continuation, closure, proximity, figure/ground relationship etc.
Perception: This is the process of recognizing and interpreting sensory stimuli. It involves organizing and translating sensory input into something meaningful.
Pattern Recognition: This is our ability to see order and make sense out of complex visual inputs or patterns.
