Expansionism (EXP): Expansionism is the policy or practice of expanding territorial control, often through military conquests. It relates closely to war and empire as it describes Rome's desire for territorial expansion.
Conquest (CON): Conquest refers to the act of gaining control over another nation or territory through forceful means such as warfare. Many Roman wars were aimed at achieving conquest.
Imperialism (IMP): Imperialism is the policy or ideology of extending a nation's power by acquiring territories outside its borders. Roman empire-building can be seen as a form of imperialism.
