A sovereign entity is a political body that has ultimate authority over its territory and population. It can make laws, enforce them, and establish its own foreign policy.
Think of a sovereign entity like the principal of a school. The principal has the ultimate authority within the school grounds - they set rules, enforce them, and decide how to interact with other schools (foreign policy).
Nation-State: A state whose territory corresponds to that occupied by a particular ethnicity or group of people who are unified by common cultural factors.
Autonomy: The right or condition of self-government. In geography, it often refers to regions within countries that have their own distinct government but are still part of the larger country.
Territoriality: The connection of people, their culture, and their economic systems to the land and its resources.
